Every ingredient has a reason. Here's ours.
Phase 1 — Digestion & Drainage
Supplement Facts
Standard dosing
1 tablet with each meal. For hypochlorhydria: titrate up by 1 tablet per meal until mild warmth is felt in the upper abdomen, then reduce by 1. Always take with food — never on an empty stomach. Do not chew. Most clients find their threshold between 2–4 tablets per meal.
HCl Restore vs. Enzyme Restore
HCl Restore does not contain Pancreatin — making it the right choice when pancreatic enzyme support is not needed or is being sourced separately. For clients who also need fat, protein, and carbohydrate enzyme support, Enzyme Restore is the more comprehensive option. Both can be used concurrently throughout the Microbiome Reset phase.
What clients are experiencing
“Needed HCl support without enzymes since I already have a separate enzyme protocol. Clean, targeted, and it's working.”
“My practitioner started me on this before adding enzymes so we could assess HCl status without mixing variables.”
“One of the most accessible and impactful supplements I've tried. Reflux I'd managed with antacids for years resolved within three weeks.”
“Vegetarian, so I appreciated this doesn't contain porcine pancreatin. Digestion has improved noticeably.”
What to know before you start
Do not use if you have active gastric or duodenal ulcers, active gastritis, or are taking NSAIDs or aspirin regularly — HCl supplementation can worsen these conditions. Do not use while taking PPIs or H2 blockers. Betaine HCl and glutamic acid HCl supplements should never be chewed and must always be taken with food. Consult your healthcare provider before use if pregnant, nursing, or managing a diagnosed GI condition.
HCl Restore does not contain Pancreatin 4X — making it the enzyme-free version. Enzyme Restore is the more comprehensive formula, adding porcine pancreatic enzymes (proteases, lipase, amylase) for clients who need full digestive enzyme support alongside HCl. Choose HCl Restore when you are enzyme-sensitive, sourcing enzymes separately, or want targeted HCl support at a lower price point. Both can be used concurrently.
Common signs of hypochlorhydria: bloating within 1–2 hours of eating, belching or reflux after meals, undigested food visible in stool, iron or B12 deficiency despite adequate dietary intake, history of SIBO recurrence, and a history of long-term PPI or antacid use. Note that reflux is frequently a symptom of low acid — not high acid — because undigested food ferments and creates pressure that forces stomach contents upward.
HCl Restore contains pepsin, which is porcine-derived. It does not contain porcine pancreatin — unlike Enzyme Restore. The formula is free from gluten and dairy. If all porcine-derived ingredients are a concern, discuss with your practitioner before use.
+Yes — and it is recommended. HCl Restore can be taken with every meal throughout Phase 2 (Microbiome Reset) to maintain the stomach acid environment critical for preventing bacterial recolonization from above. This is one of the most commonly missed steps and one of the primary reasons SIBO recurs after a clearing protocol.
